Olly Murs zajął drugie miejsce w szóstej edycji angielskiego programu rozrywkowego X Factor w 2009 roku. Na początku 2010 roku otrzymał propozycję współpracy z wytwórnią muzyczną Syco Music oraz Epic Records, z którą do dziś jest związany
